About me

A performance major graduate (organ and harpsichord) from Huddersfield Polytechnic School of Music, I gained my BA(Hons) Music degree in 1987. After this, I went straight into my dream job in Music Administration at the Royal Festival Hall in London. After a couple of exciting years in London, I returned home to Lancaster where I gained a Primary PGCE (Music) from St Martin’s College. After 27 years of classroom experience, I have now transferred my skills to teach music creatively on a one-to-one basis.
Playing the organ for church services for longer than I care to remember and always looking to improve my own skills, I have recently completed the Foundation Conductors’ Course with Sing for Pleasure. I enjoy sharing the training of Lancaster Priory Children’s Choir on Friday afternoons and sing with Lancaster Millennium Choir on Monday evenings. You will find me at Lancaster Priory every weekend where I enjoy my role of part-time Verger and Concert Administrator.
